Day 5 sightseeing day

Today, June 10th, was another wonderful day in the West.  We started our day with a drive up to Mt. Rushmore Memorial, and it is awesome.  To try to imagine the work that went into creating those heads, in the time period they were done, mind staggering.  We stayed over 3 hours and walked the entire trail that leads to the base of the heads and back to the entrance.  We struck out for Custer State park from Rushmore and the road is extremely pleasing for all the nature and the rocks.  Custer State Park is beautiful in rolling hills, mountains and of course wild life, buffalo, wild burros and deer and maybe a turkey or two for good measure. I guess we stayed in the park for 4 hours, and upon leaving, working our way back to the camp, we stopped at the Blue Bell Lodge and had lunch, buffalo burger for me and Salad for DW.  Tomorrow we go to the Crazy Horse monument and then up north to Deadwood.  Always wanted to see Wild Bill Hickoks' grave.  So much to see and do.  Did I mention that I think this country is absolutely freaking wonderful..  Back at Camp, I cracked open my anniversary edition, blu ray of North by Northwest and watched it again.  I forgot to mention that some of the residents of Custer State Park, were very interested in visitors.  Some kept their distance.
